Placing any kind of restraint on contributors is a touchy issue. On the one hand, we need all the help we can get adding as many decks as possible to the site. On the other, we are trying to raise the bar by having more cards available for every deck. And we want them to look great.
In order to protect the quality of this site we are detailing the specific of what contributing to this site means and how to do it properly.
Types of Contributors

Subscribers
This is anyone who adds decks to their collections or any other lists that we might create. It’s currently in development, but this is part pf why this site exists so it’s worth pointing out.
Contributor
Strange that one of the levels of contributor is in fact name contributor. This is someone who has been given access to add new decks for review into our system. It requires a lot more work in that you have to prepare files to be uploaded and research some of the details of the deck as best you can. What this all entails will be explain later on this page.
Editor
This is someone who reviews submitted decks for accuracy and content standards. Once verified that we have the images we need and that the data is as correct as we can determine they will publish the deck and it will go live on the site.
Adding a New Deck to Playing Cards +
As stated above, you must first have a contributor role on the website. If that is something you are interested in please feel free to reach out.
Deck Details
There is a lot of info to be learned about each deck. Some of this data can be hard to come by. Enter what you know. Look up and what you can. Leave blank what you don’t. If a dropdown doesn’t give you an option you need, post it in the notes and an admin will add it to the deck and the forms options for future submissions.
Images of the Deck
For this site to fulfill its goal we really only want deck submissions that include all cards in the deck. This certainly is more work. I will be going through my 100+ unique decks and adding them as time allows.
I may write more about getting good quality images in the future, but for now I’ll assume if you are wanting to contribute you know how to get your images to look like the ones already on the site. I use a the Plustek ePhoto scanner for the cards and my phone with the PhotoScan app from Google for the box. All photos should be in .jpg format.
Once you have you images
Our form has a single uploader for all your photos. You will simply select all the appropriate photos and when you submit the form our system will index the cards appropriately. In order for this to work the files must be names in a fairly specific way.

Obviously if the deck does not have one of the specific cards above you may omit it. I use the Name Mangler app for renaming files in a large batch and programmatically. This makes the whole process a breeze.
